Silent Sky

This play is focused around Henrietta Leavitt, a 19th century astronomer who was rendered partially deaf due to illness at a young age. For this show, I wanted to create a sound scape that both translated parts of the deaf experience to a hearing audience, and interacted with hard of hearing patrons in an interesting way. The music was primarily based on 18th Century romanticism composers, like Amy Beach, with a final piece that brought us into the 21st Century.
