Henriad (Henry IV-V)

For this production, the central idea was "Shakespeare goes punk." In the months leading up to the start of production, I inundated myself with a genre I had absolutely no experience in, taking inspiration from bands like IDLES, Viagra Boys, and Rage Against the Machine to recreate the feeling and energy of that musical movement, and pair it up with one of Shakespeares most recognizable stories.

Selected pieces are from the Battlke of Shrewsbury, were a single musical idea was meticulously programmed to follow the energy of the battle. The second accompanied the crowning of Henry V, whilst standing over the body of his dead father.
